Twin girls Jodie and Lauren Filer have been selected for this year’s Somerset County Under-17 ladies cricket squad.
The girls were two of the nine chosen from all age groups to be part of Somerset’s Emerging player performance (EPP), and have been training hard during the winter months with specialised coaches to help rebuild the senior side by better-preparing youngsters coming through.
They have both been part of the Somerset set-up since they were 11-years-old and have enjoyed more than five years playing county level cricket. They are continuing to work hard to also be included in the Under-17 touring squad to Sri Lanka next February.
Not only do they play cricket, but also play football for their local club Hutton, which is hoping to finish third in a highly-competitive competition. Lauren also plays football for Somerset Under-16s, Somerset Schools and has been on trial with Bristol City.
The girls are looking for anyone who would be interested in sponsoring them to get in touch on 07792 072730.
