The Weston-super-Mare and District Football League saw a weekend full of action-packed matches.

In the Atwell Shield, Nailsea United and Isle of Wedmore Reserves played out a 2-2 draw after 90 minutes.

However, a winner needed to be decided, and Wedmore clinched the victory by winning 3-1 on penalties.

San Neal scored twice for Wedmore, while Ryan Evans and Ben Watts were on target for Nailsea.

Uphill Castle Reserves triumphed over Division 4's Long Ashton with a 5-2 victory.

Dan Thomas netted a hat-trick, while Joe Brett and Etan Reed also scored.

Harry Cole and Phil Davis scored for Long Ashton.

Division 1's Worle Reserves proved too strong for Division 3 leaders Weston Celtic, securing a 4-2 win.

Ross Stockhall scored twice, with Jayden Stockhall and Charlie Talbot also on the scoresheet.

Aiden Malcolm and Jack Hughes scored for Weston Celtic.

In Division 4, Weston Celtic's second team had a more successful outing, defeating Worle Rangers A 11-0.

Lestyn Essery scored four goals, Jordan Williams and Sam Chatwood three each, and Nick Joules one.

A thrilling nine-goal encounter saw Nailsea United edge out Clevedon United 5-4.

Charles Clode (3), Chris Brown, and Tony Peacock scored for Nailsea, with Nick Austen (2), Toby Connor, and Danny Oseman-Lush replying for Clevedon.

AFC Nailsea & Backwell Reserves won 4-0 against Uphill Castle Colts, thanks to goals from Ross Sharp (2), Glenn Lewin, and Ben Perrett.

Banwell Colts had a successful day, winning 8-2 against Burnham United A.

Connor Price (3), Jack Jones, and Ben Price scored two each, and Dean Rix also found the net.

Cain Smith scored two goals for Burnham.

In Division 3, Shipham secured their first win of the season with a 2-0 victory against Berrow Reserves, courtesy of two goals from Artem Vostrukhin.

West Wick Reserves won 6-0 against Yatton & Cleeve United A, with Jake George (3), Charles Matthews (2), and Rob Colman scoring.

In Division 2, AFC Nailsea & Backwell moved to the top with a 3-1 victory against St George EIG A.

Andy Austin and Ben Paine scored, with an own goal adding to the tally.

Selkirk United beat Worle Rangers Reserves 8-1, with Harvey Davies (4), Charles Hoffmann (2), Paul Frost, and Adam Hastings scoring.

Division 1 leaders Berrow extended their lead with a 3-1 win over Swiss Valley Rangers.
