St Andrews Bowling Club enjoyed a week of impressive victories in national and regional competitions.
The women's team triumphed in the regional quarter-finals of the Yetton Plate, defeating Isle of Wedmore by 64 shots.
The team, featuring six players new to national competition, excelled across three rinks, drawing only one.
Jean Whittaker’s away rink led with a 22-shot win, Becky McMillan’s home rink surpassed that with a 26-shot victory, and Ann Campbell’s home four, who recently returned to the sport, won by 15.
Sue Sinclair’s away rink, however, lost on the last end.
St Andrews will now face North Wilts club from Chippenham in the regional semi-final on December 7.
Meanwhile, the men's team celebrated one of their largest wins in the Wessex League, topping the Central Division table with a 68-shot victory over Clevedon.
Sam Stocker’s home rink contributed significantly, winning by 31 shots.
Phil Villis’s home rink, however, had a nail-biting finish, winning by just one shot.
The away teams from St Andrews dominated, winning by a total of 35 shots and conceding only 11 of the 36 ends.
Tim Salter’s quartet had a remarkable run of 19 shots in seven ends, and Jack Angove’s team conceded only six shots.
