Westfield FC edged out Wrington Redhill in a thrilling 3-2 encounter.

The first half burst into life with early action.

Wrington's Chris Jones saw a superb free-kick tipped over the bar by Westfield's goalkeeper, Barter.

However, Jones soon turned provider, flicking the ball past Westfield's Oliver Jones, only to be bundled over for a clear penalty.

Jones dusted himself off to score the opening goal with a well-placed shot into the bottom corner.

Westfield quickly responded, winning a penalty of their own when a clearance rebounded to Ryan Allen, who was tripped while taking his shot.

Allen converted the penalty past Wrington's goalkeeper, Rob Hannah, restoring parity.

The remainder of the first half saw both teams struggle to create clear chances, leaving the score at 1-1 at half-time.

The second half, however, was a different story, with both teams' goalkeepers repeatedly called into action.

Hannah was fully stretched to tip a Nathan Flynn effort around the post.

The resulting corner was half-cleared, allowing Sam Gregory to tuck it away, putting Westfield ahead 2-1.

Wrington Redhill responded positively, with Backhouse and Weeks combining well.

A fierce Jack Hutchings cross from the right eluded everyone rushing towards the Westfield goal.

Soon after, a floated free-kick from the right flew over the jumping pack and was headed home by Josh Skuse to equalise.

As the match appeared destined for a draw, Westfield scored the winner directly from a corner.

Hannah, who would normally deal with the cross easily, was impeded by two jumping attackers.

Wrington Redhill threw everything they had at the Westfield goal in search of an equaliser, but it was not to be, and the game ended 3-2.

Jenson Backhouse was named supporters' man of the match.

Jake Marshman won the managers' challenge, arriving at the game in odd shoes.
