St Andrews celebrated a weekend of national competition success.
The team claimed victories in both the men’s Denny Cup and the mixed Egham Trophy.
In a fluctuating Denny game against Clevedon, Saints’ two away rinks took an early lead, with Darrell Johnston’s men scoring a seven on the second end.
Meanwhile, the home rinks only managed to pull ahead halfway through the game.
Eventually, home skips Lee Stocker and Brian Reeves won by a total of 25, while the away teams worked hard to minimise the damage, with the final victory margin being just seven shots.
Saints now prepare to face Clarrie Dunbar in the next round.
Despite missing five of their top male players, Saints defeated Nailsea by 52 shots in the Egham Trophy on Sunday.
The home rinks, led by skips Alan Biss and Jack Angove, were particularly dominant, each scoring 33 shots.
Ann Campbell also marked a successful season debut on Angove’s rink.
The away teams struggled more on Nailsea’s slow carpet, trailing for much of the game.
However, a streak of nine shots over six ends pushed Becky McMillan ahead, winning by eight.
This victory sets Saints up for their third encounter of the season with Clevedon.
