Weston are in FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round action as they make the trip to the Suffolk coast to take on Lowestoft Town today. The match kicks off at 3pm.

The destination of this fixture wasn’t determined until Tuesday evening, following Lowestoft’s 3-1 home victory over Haringey Borough in a Third Qualifying Round replay. Harvey Sayer scored all three for last season’s Isthmian League North Division champions, and Sayer no doubt made the fans feel like dancing the night away following his stunning hat-trick.

It wasn’t just Sayer who claimed a treble on Tuesday evening, as both Brandon Bak and Jamie Soule achieved the same accolade after the 8-0 win over Keynsham Town in the Somerset Premier Cup. It was an encouraging display from a fairly youthful side, with Josh Oliver scoring the goal of the night with his extraordinary 30-yard effort that arrowed into the top corner, and there was also a goal from substitute Leighton Green.

The aforementioned Bak has been in good scoring form lately, as his headed effort was enough to knock out Chippenham Town by a goal to nil last week, also in a Third Qualifying Round replay.

It’s a first-ever meeting between The Seagulls and The Trawlerboys, as Weston prepare for the long journey to the UK’s most easterly town.

Both sides will be desperate for the victory which would mean qualification for the First Round proper. The Seagulls last played at that stage in November 2018 for the visit of Wrexham. Despite a good display from Weston, the Welsh side emerged with a 2-0 win in front of a bumper Woodspring Stadium crowd.

Weston will be looking to make it into the First Round proper for the sixth time in their history, while Lowestoft will be hoping to progress to that stage for the seventh time. Therefore, a mouth-watering clash in front of a large crowd awaits us on the Suffolk coast.

*Should the match be tied after 90 minutes, a replay will take place at the Optima Stadium on Tuesday, 15th October at 7:45pm.*
