Weston-super-Mare AFC have announced forward Marley Rose has joined on loan from Bristol City.

The 19-year-old has previous experience in the National League South, having spent time on loan with Bath City and Taunton Town at this level across the past two seasons.

Capable of playing as a No.10 or on either wing, Marley has been with the Robins since the age of 16 and grown up through their youth ranks at Ashton Gate.

Marley will be known to a number of Seagulls players already, having featured with Brandon Bak and Dylan Kadji at City while also playing alongside Ollie Chamberlain at Taunton.

Manager Scott Bartlett said: "Marley is talented, he is athletic and very good technically.

“Losing Dylan was in some way expected and we moved to ensure we have strong competition within the squad.

“Training has been at a high level, we thank Bristol City and welcome Marley into a good environment."

Born and bred in Bristol, Marley had spells in the Southampton, Yeovil Town and Bristol Rovers academies before joining Bristol City at under-16 level.

He signed a two-year scholarship at the start of the 2021-2022 season to join the under-18s at Ashton Gate, before penning his first professional contract in March 2023.

In January 2023, Marley got his first experience of senior football with a one-month loan move to National League South side Bath City where he made four appearances during his time at Twerton Park.

After spending the first half of the 2023-2024 season with Bristol City’s under-21s, he joined National League South side Taunton Town on loan in January 2024 until the end of the season. The young attacker made five appearances before his season was cut short by injury.
