Winscombe Bowling Club’s Men took on SCL Prem 1 team Street in the fourth round of the Turnbull Cup at home last week and lost out by the slimmest of margins.
It was an exciting match in the knockout competition, with the two teams pushing each other the whole way.
Winscombe were winning by two shots on the last end, with the rink skipped by Mike Adams playing and currently 12 up in their personal game.
However, a lucky wick and a good last wood from the Street skip gave them two shots and put the teams at 61-61 at the end of regulation, sending the match to an extra end.
Mike Curtis’ rink took on the challenge for Winscombe, but they were thwarted by Street by just one shot, knocking Winscombe out of the Turnbull Cup.
Elsewhere Winscombe two teams in the Over 55's league were in action once again.
The Originals team continued their season-long unbeaten run with a big 42-shot win over Yatton to solidify their position at the top of Division One, whilst the Pioneers lost to Clevedon Promenade.
