Another busy week has gone by at Congresbury Bowls Club with the squads playing eight fixtures and winning five of them along the way.

The men got three of the five wins in their leagues matches this week which included two dominant victories, beating Long Ashton by 65 shots in the Britannia Windows Evening League and the men’s 'A Team' beating Taunton B by 29 shots.

Meanwhile the Over 55’s lost 74-80 to West Backwell whilst the squad also lost 72-91 away to Frome in the National Top Club on a tricky green.

The Ladies had two matches themselves, winning comfortably against Ashcombe in the Ladies Wessex League 55-42, but losing in a tight game to Clarence by three shots and only gaining two league points.

There was also a mixed tourist match at the club in which Congresbury hosted the visiting Oxford University Press and won the friendly match 82-71 after some competitive games.

Next week brings on more fixtures for the club as the Ladies start their Fear Cup campaign, while the men start their Clarence Davey and Turnbull Cup campaigns.
