It’s been a busy week of bowls for Congresbury Bowling Club’s men and women, with the squads playing 10 games in total throughout the past week.

There were two impressive Over 55 League wins for the men, they beat Long Ashton by an impressive 16-point margin at 103-87, and then repeated the trick against Portishead where they won 97-87.

The top scoring rink in the Long Ashton fixture was the group of Trow, Yearlsey, and Lewis who won their match 25-9, whilst Rigg, Wilcock, and Baker top-scored in the Portishead match by winning 27-9.

In the Somerset County League, the ‘A’ team won comfortably against Winscombe, 78-47, with the rink of Broom, Wear, Lines, and Shipway high scoring as they recorded 26 points.

However, the ‘B’ team lost twice in the County League this week and already are still looking to get league points on the board.

The women had a mixed bag of results as they beat Clevedon in the Ladies Wessex League whilst they lost to Isle of Wedmore and Portishead in the Weston and District Ladies League.

In the game against Clevedon the Ladies won 56-52 with the rink of Anniuk, Craig, Andrews, and Harrison top scoring with a 20-16 victory, whilst the squad suffered a 37-62 loss to Portishead and a 30-51 loss to Wedmore in the Weston league.
