The Weston-super-Mare and District Football League’s 2023/24 season is almost at a close after a campaign that has gone on for far longer than normal due to torrential downpours and unplayable pitches.
In Division One Weston Town confirmed their treble winning season with a 2-1 win over Churchill Club 70.
The Weston team have been rising up the table over the last few weeks having had a number of games in hand to play.
Their win over Churchill in the final game of the season has meant they now overtake runners-up Isle of Wedmore and can add the league crown to the two cup competitions they have already won this season.
In Division Two Haywood Village confirmed their runners-up status with a 4-2 win over Clevedon United ‘A’, Worle Rangers played out a 3-3 draw with St George Easton-in-Gordano, and Berrow beat Sporting Weston Reserves 8-2 away from home.
There are no longer any games left in Division Three and Division Four held their last game of the 2023/24 season when Weston Celtic beat Banwell ‘A’ 5-2 to secure second
