Three of Clarence Bowling Club’s teams were in action this week, with the Ladies starting off with a fine 57-44 win in the North Somerset Triples League, winning on all three rinks and taking maximum points against Ashcombe.
The closest rink came from Carol Marshall and Jan Anning skipped by Jane Sansam, it was all square after 15 ends, but Samsam's Ladies pilled on the pressure and took all the remaining ends to win 20-13.
Another outstanding showing by the Blues saw them take 17 of the available 20 points in their Over 55s League match against Banwell with a 108-98 win.
The hardest point came from Martin Ford and Nigel Martin skipped by Gordon Leigh, who were five-shots down with five ends to play but Leigh’s Men managed to win each end by a single shot to gain a well-deserved draw.
B Benn, D Clifford, and G Owen had the biggest winning margin of 23-14.
A superb display by Clarence Men in the ‘Top Club’ Competition to win 85-70 away to Keynsham.
One rink stood out as Ben Benstead and Gordon Leigh took control of this match from start to finish, including a purple patch of nine ends and taking 15-shots from them, which helped to give them a 21-shot win.
