Worle FC confirmed their safety in the Premier Division of the Somerset County League for another season after a 2-2 draw with Chard Town in their last game of the season.
A brace from Toby Jones was enough for his team to claim the vital point needed to guarantee their safety, although a loss for relegation rivals Wrington Redhill meant that Worle ended the season with a two-point cushion from the drop zone, sitting in 13th place on 31 points.
They also made it to the semi finals of the Somerset Senior Cup before losing to Sporting Weston FC.
Worle started their season off strongly with a 3-1 win over Ilminster and a 4-0 win over Keynsham in their first three games, but inconsistency in fixtures and in form due to a very wet winter meant they were playing catch up throughout the year, both in points and in games played.
However, it was these games in hand that Worle took advantage of, winning four of their five games in April, including a 2-0 victory over league winners Mendip Broadwalk, to claw their way out of the relegation zone and back to Premier Division football for another season.
