National League South: Slough Town 2-0 Weston-super-Mare AFC
Weston AFC fell to their first away league defeat of 2024 following a 2-0 defeat at Slough Town.
Manager Scott Bartlett selected the same eleven that started in Monday’s 1-1 draw at Chelmsford City, as The Seagulls looked to continue their recent good form.
A goal either side of the half time break though gave Slough a big advantage in the match and they were able to hold firm.
Rex Mannings and Lloyd Humphries had attempts on goal later on but it ended a deserved win for Slough, who are now 16 league games unbeaten at their Arbour Park home.
Speaking after the match, Weston manager Scott Bartlett said: "That was the worst we've played in a long time.
"We played completely into their hands really, we were drilled and we knew what they were good at, and they are a good team by the way, but we didn't do anything to lay a glove on them really."
Up next for Weston-super-Mare AFC is a home match on Tuesday (February 6) against Chippenham Town. That match kicks off at 7.45pm at The Optima.
