The Mixed Winter League finally got under way at Isle of Wedmore Golf Club and Quentin Thorne led the way with 43 points, one better than Ken Fisher with Darren Hayward third in the division with 40.
John Steele was the only player from Division 1 to finish in the overall top three, scoring 41. Dave Skelton was runner-up with 39 and Laurie Olive third with 36. Ian Williams was top scorer in division 2 on 37, just a point better than Max Grant who beat Stan Dinotaro on countback. Claire Biggs, on 37, was the highest scorer for the ladies.
Both the Ladies and Seniors played Shambles, a strange mixture of scramble and bowmaker. Andy Shepherd, Nick Parker and Graham Jones won the Seniors with 93 which put them just one ahead of runners-up Chris Donald, Richard Efford and Lucas Kirk. John Cutter, David Adams and Jeff Griffiths took third place with 90 points.
The Ladies settled for just nine holes with first place going to Alison Dodkin, Marion Warren-Smith and Viv Dix on 45 points. Linda Huzal, Fran Mcmillan and Jill Cornelius were second on 43 with third place going to Janice Lawrence, Trish Phelps and Ann Search on 42.
