Despite the heavy rain through the week Steve Major scored the best score at Wedmore Golf Club’s weekend stableford, in support of Royal British Legion, albeit over a reduced course.
This, together with the wet conditions underfoot, kept the scores lower than usual.
The best score of the day came from Major who won Division Two with 31 points, which was just one better than runner-up Craig Fillary with Tony Bird in third on 27.
In Division One Dom Smith took first place with 27, two ahead of Jayson Lillington and Mark Earwaker who both scored 25.
In Division Three there was a close finish which saw John Sims win with 30 points, a single point ahead of Petar Sismanovic with Chris McKinley another point behind in third place.
There was a good entry from the Ladies despite the miserable conditions with the top score coming from Eunice Bond with 25 ahead of new Ladies Captain Lyn Bird on 24 and Ann Dixon on 23.
