Winscombe RFC grabbed their first Regional 2 Tribute Severn win of the season after beating Devizes 41-29 on Saturday.

The Combe started brightly and were on the scoreboard through two Sam Dursley penalties, with Devizes responding with one of their own through Morgan Wellard.

Tom Broom was then released to score the first try of the game for Winscombe in the corner.

This was quickly followed by another beneath the posts by Harry Power, which was well set-up by a blindside break by Lewis Podpadec.

Devizes clawed back just before the break as Kieran Hiscoc scored off a driving maul but Winscombe went into half-time 20-8 ahead.

Winscombe increased their lead after the break when Dursley's neat chip over the defensive line saw him race in for a try before Power scored a second.

Indiscipline cost the visitors dearly, however, and they entered the final quarter reduced to 13 men. Devizes capitalised and scored two converted tries through Hiscock and Wellard before Winscombe’s Kieran Hill raced in to seal the match and the bonus point.

Dursley, accurate with the boot throughout the match, added the conversion. In the dying moments Devizes crossed for a final, bonus point try of their own through Lewis Paget.
