Berrow Reserves claimed the Bob Keyes Cup with a 3-2 win over Axbridge Reserves at Wedmore Sports Ground last Saturday.
Berrow drew first blood with Dale Curtis dashing through the inside right channel to fire home an unstoppable shot past goalkeeper Craig Fear on five minutes.
10 minutes later Axbridge's Lewis Bull saw his diving header skim the crossbar but United did find the equaliser in the 37th minute.
Luke White, on the outside left channel played a delightful ball for Alfie Marsh to fire past Berrow goalkeeper Callum Moore for the leveller.
The highlight of the first half, as far as the neutral was concerned, was a two-goal blast from Berrow inside the last two minutes of the first half.
Ian Walsh gave Fear little chance, picking his spot beautifully from close range, following a superb delivery, to his feet, from arch-schemer Shaun Lismore before Adam Turner powerfully shot home.
Axbridge admirably fought their way back into the game with Marsh firing high into the net following Zak Carter’s enterprising industry on the hour.
Drama was to occur minutes later however when referee Alex Parslow correctly noticed a push in the Berrow box, but Lewis Bull blazed his penalty kick high over the crossbar as Berrow managed to hold on to secure a memorable victory and lift the trophy.
