Weston Warriors ABC duo Tommy Dolan and Oscar Merreyweather shone in Yeovil recently.
First up was Dolan in his first skills bout with Jimmy Dean Of Portland ABC.
The two 11-year-olds came out and showed all the skills they have learnt in training.
Dolan had the more eye-catching combinations but Dean would fire back with fast flurries of punches.
Both lads received a loud ovation at the final bell for their skills and effort and saw both boxers have their hands raised.
Next up was Merreyweather contesting his fourth bout against Levi Smith of Yeovil ABC.
The first round saw Smith come out fast with long straight shots trying to keep Merreyweather out of range.
Merreyweather was the sharper of the two boxers and was able to time his attacks well landing jabs and crosses.
The round ended with Merreyweather had Smith on the ropes.
In the second round Merreyweather came out doubling the jab and pushing Smith back with fast accurate one-twos.
After working Smith on to the ropes ,as instructed, he allowed himself a bit more space and switched his attack to Smith’s open body.
Now Merreyweather was into his rhythm there was no stopping him.
He pushed Smith back with accurate straight punches before punishing him to the body before he was announced as the clear winner.
