Weston Aerobic Gymnastics Club brought home 51 medals from the Suki Club competition in Southampton.

The Suki Club competition was held last weekend in Southampton and although the last home competition of the year, it produced the highest standard of all home events with clubs fielding their top gymnasts in all levels

Weston Aerobic Gymnastic Club were well represented at regional, national and international levels with 49 gymnasts competing and most gaining personal bests, including them GBR trio of Bella, Molly and Lola, who got the highest score of the weekend with a fantastic 19.250.

Weston recorded another stellar competition, winning 51 medals, most of the gold.

In the regional level pre-foundation (age 8) individual section, gold with a personal best of 16.00 and highest RAC score of the day went to Lily-Jean Smith.

Niamh Austen took silver with a confident performance, despite several technical difficulties with the music system.

Jacob Dean took gold in the individual male and showed confidence and poise. In the trio, Lottie Janes, Maria Wong and Nicole Wong, who survived a shoe problem, took gold with style.

In the foundation individual female category, Weston claimed all 3 medal positions and a credible sixth for first time competitor Libby Hadley in a large category. Gold: Justina Makoetlane; silver: Molly Hobbs; bronze: Tilly Belbin.

Pairs - gold - Justina Makoetlane & Molly Hobbs; silver: Ramielle Redding & Jacob Dean

National development - individual male – gold: Devon Howell; silver: Rhys Harvey. In the pairs category, Weston claimed their second set of medal positions with confident performances from all gymnasts.

Gold went to first time mixed pair of Devon Howell & Lexi Allcock; silver: Naomi Doolan & Marina Small; bronze - Daisy Crompton & Georgia Pierre.

The trio category saw newcomer Erin Richards join with experienced pair Daisy and Georgia for a gold medal performance.

Group 1 individual female gold went to Mpho Makoetlane with a well-executed routine. Abigail Robbins was seventh, just 1.00 mark off the top spot with a confident performance from this new RAC gymnast.

Pairs – bronze: Rhys Harvey & Joe Hurst.

Lily Duffy won bronze in NAC national development individual, while Kyra Bull was fourth, scoring the highest difficulty in the category with a well-executed first performance.

Jack Harvey won gold in the individual with an improved execution and a personal best score. In the pairs, Lily Duffy was joined by teammate Mae Li Pang to pick up the gold medal.

In Group 1 individual female, Maddy Sherwood-Dawson won bronze. In the pairs, Keira Wilderson & Olivia Damerall won silver and Maddy Sherwood-Dawson & Mya McConnell took bronze.

In the seniors, Izzy Worrall won gold, scoring 17.600, the highest NAC score of the day and her personal best. Courtney Hewett won silver, ending the first day of the competition with the crowd cheering her on.

In the foundation class, Lola-Rose Boxley showed her hard work since the British Championship paid off with a bronze medal.

Jasmin Dight won gold and Seren Jones bronze in the individual female FIG National Development category.

Guests to the category Katie Ferris and Mae-Li Pang gave credible performances for their first FIG category to come fifth and sixth in a field of strong competitors.

Jasmine, Seren and Katie then joined together to claim the gold in the trio category with their highest score to date.

In the female Group 1, Lola Lawrence won gold with another stunning performance as Queen Elsa to achieve her personal best score of 19.200. Nancy Law won silver with a graceful routine to music from Annie.

Lauren Porter performed her last Group 1 routine show and gained fourth place, casing her strengths ready for next year as a Group 2 gymnast.

Lewis Harvey won gold in the individual male category. In the mixed pairs,

Lewis Harvey and Willow Neal performed artistically to gain themselves the gold medal and a personal best score of 17.700.

Once again the Weston trio of Molly Brown, Bella Styles and Lola Lawrence wowed the judges and audience with a spectacular performance which saw the win the gold medal with 19.250, the highest score of the competition and a personal best to date.

The age group two category saw Weston’s trio of Isidora Vucicevic, Lauren Porter and Xena Hewett close the competition with a gold medal winning routine and a personal best score for the girls.

The standard of competition was very high and Weston’s gymnasts gave some outstanding performances which saw them take home many medals and personal bests across all levels.
