THE MP for Weston-super-Mare said “we have so much to be proud of” as he prepares for the visit of Minister Stephanie Peacock.
MP Peacock, Minister for Sport, Media, Civil Society, and Youth, will be in Weston in the new year.
MP Aldridge said he had an “important meeting” with her this morning (Wednesday, December 4) at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
The Weston MP also said he discussed the renovation of Birnbeck Pier with the Minister.
Minister Peacock committed to visiting the town to see the work across all areas of her portfolio for herself, including the work of Super Culture.
They also discussed a number of areas including the new Civil Society Covenant, working closely with Voluntary Action North Somerset, and the powerful community work of our proud sports teams like Weston-super-Mare AFC Weston Ability Football Club Weston-super-Mare AFC Women and Hornets RFC, Weston Super Mare Rugby Club.
They also discussed the Weston-super-Mare Youth Council, YMCA Weston-super-Mare and many others to support so many young people across our communities and how we are looking forward to bringing the Youth Council to Westminster.
