A WEDDING singer from Weston-super-Mare has scooped up two wedding industry awards.
Lucy Harvey, a singer and saxophonist based in Worle, won the award for the South West at the Wedding Industry Awards at an event held at Aldwick Estate in Redhill, Bristol.
The winner is chosen in a vote by those who have hired them for their weddings in the last year.
Lucy’s win means she will go on to compete in the national Wedding Industry Awards in January.

Earlier last month, she also won the South West Wedding Award at a gala that took place in Plymouth, Devon.
It is the second year in a row Lucy has won both awards.
“I’m very pleased to have held the title for two years in a row,” she said.
“I want to give massive thanks to the people who took the time to vote for me. Fingers crossed for the nationals.”
Lucy began singing at holiday parks both in the UK and abroad before going on to perform at weddings in choirs and bands.
She said the joyful atmosphere at weddings made her want to pursue playing at weddings full time.
“It’s a different feel to a theatre show or performing in a pub or something because everyone is there to have a good time,” she said.
“I just loved it. I ended up trying to forge a way into the industry.”
Lucy sings and plays the saxophone, usually performing love ballads and pop songs but also playing the saxophone alongside a DJ.
She said the wedding industry is doing well, especially in the years immediately after the COVID-19 pandemic, when couples were forced to delay their ceremonies due to the lockdowns.
The UK wedding industry is estimated to be worth £15 billion annually.
