A North Somerset preschool has received a “Good” rating by Ofsted.
Congresbury Community Preschool, which is charity-run and looks after children aged between two and four, was described as having a “welcoming environment” and children who feel “physically and emotionally secure”.
It was rated as Good in categories including the “quality of education”, “behaviour and attitudes”, “personal development” and “leadership and management”.
Inspector Elaine Douglas wrote: “Staff provide a welcoming environment that sparks children's curiosity and desire to explore.

"For example, young children discover that they can see things close or far away depending on which end of the binoculars they look through.
“Children arrive happy and settle quickly because they feel physically and emotionally secure. The curriculum is ambitious and varied.
"Children who prefer to learn outdoors have lots of opportunities to use the well-planned gardens, where they develop control and coordination and a love of nature.
The report said that the staff are enthusiastic, which gives the children a “positive attitude to learning”, and that the staff know the children and their parents well, allowing them to understand the needs and development of each child.
