THE Mayor of Weston-super-Mare has met the family of a young biker who died after an accident on the A370.
Cllr John Crockford-Hawley met the parents and young brother of Alfie Gray, who died in a motorbike collision in September.
The Mayor was handing gifts to the family of young Alfie Gray, who recently passed away after a motorcycle accident.
Cllr Crockford-Hawley said: “Alfie’s parents and younger brother Archie were collecting toys for use in Hospicecare South West - a brave way of helping others in the midst of their own grieving.
“I cannot begin to appreciate what they are going through as we approach Christmas, and I salute all three of them.”
Alfie’s family and friends organised a Christmas toy run for a children’s hospice in his memory.
The Bikers for Alfie group has been planning motorbike gatherings, plaques and tributes at venues where they and Alfie used to meet.
The group is also helping his family to organise a Christmas toy run for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW), collecting donated gifts for the children supported by the charity.
