THE festive season is fully underway, with Christmas lights going up in towns across North Somerset and shoppers heading to the high street in search of presents.
The coming weeks will see Christmas markets popping up in Weston-super-Mare, Portishead, Nailsea and Clevedon, providing plenty to do for those looking to get into the Christmas spirit.
Here is a round up of all the markets in North Somerset.
Weston-super-Mare
Weston Museum will be hosting its annual Christmas Market Weekend, hosting a range of local stallholders and businesses.
The market, which is completely free to visit, opens this Saturday (30 December) and Sunday (1 November) from 10am to 3pm and will also feature a visit from Santa Clause himself.
Children will be able to meet Mr Clause, as well as take a photo with him and receive a gift.
There will also be a “children’s trail”, where kids will have to hunt through the galleries to find Santa’s missing reindeer.
As usual, Clara’s Cafe will also be open in the museum, selling an array of “tempting treats, alongside some seasonal specialities”.

Clevedon
This weekend also sees the arrival of the Clevedon Sunday Market Christmas Special.
The monthly market will be in its usual place between the seafront, Hill Road and Alexandra Road, as well as inside the Princes Hall on Princes Road.
There will be over 100 stalls selling artisan goods and handmade items, as well as delicious food and drink.
A statemetn from the organisers said: “This year we will have over 100 stalls full to the brim with handmade loveliness and food and drink galore.
“It’s the perfect place to do your Christmas shopping and just enjoy time with loved ones wandering round whilst drinking mulled wine!”
Portishead
Next weekend sees the arrival of the Posset Christmas Market (formally known as Portishead Victorian Evening and Craft Fayre) on Portishead High Street.
As well as the usual offering of goods, food and drink, there will also be a fun fair and live entertainment.
The market, which is organised by Portishead Christmas Lights will be open on Sunday 8 December from 2pm to 6pm.
A statement from the organisers said: “We will have an array of stalls which will include gifts, food and drink and charity stalls. A fun fair will also be present for all to enjoy .
“Combined with Live entertainment and local shops, the event is a great afternoon. The event stretches the high street and is closed off to traffic. We can't wait to see you there.”
Nailsea
Nailsea residents will also have to wait until next weekend for their market, when eat:Nailsea Christmas Market arrives on Nailsea High Street.
The market, which will be open on Saturday 7 December from 10am to 4pm, is primarily a celebration of local West Country food and drink but will also feature artisan stalls and live entertainment.
There will be a wide range of vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, alcohol free food and drink on sale with more than 100 producers showcasing their skills.
You'll be able to pick up Christmas gifts and stocking fillers from local businesses and craftspeople while enjoying live entertainment.
Santa, well known for his skill of being in multiple places at once, will also be making an appearance here.
He will be outside the former Home Additions shop on his sleigh, while circus performers will be showing off their skills on the village green and a fire dancer performs at dusk.
The High Street will be closed to traffic and the festival will spread its good cheer into Crown Glass Shopping Centre
