A WESTON student has joined the Youth Windsurf Racing European Championships.

Broadoak Academy announced that Year 7 student, Theodora Coulton, achieved an impressive fifth place finish in the Under-13 Girls’ fleet at the prestigious Youth Windsurf Racing European Championships.

The event, organised by the Techno 293 class, was held at the Athens Nautical Club, drawing 265 talented young windsurfers from 12 countries.

Theodora joined 15 other skilled sailors representing the UK in the championships, where participants were divided into fleets according to age and gender.

Demonstrating both skill and determination in the highly competitive Under-13 category, Theodora’s achievement highlights her dedication and potential in the sport.

Theodora said: “The competition was really fun. There was different conditions every day so there was always a different challenge, and I was so happy to come fifth in my age group.”

Theodora trains at Cheddar Reservoir and began windsurfing with her family, inspired by her father’s passion for the sport and her brother’s involvement.

Her commitment to training and love for the sport have propelled her to this significant milestone at such a young age.
