MEAD Realisations Ltd., in collaboration with their agents, has announce that planning permission has been granted for a new 75-acre solar farm in Kewstoke.
This 25MWp solar array will generate approximately 25 GWh/year of clean, carbon-free electricity—enough to power around 9,000 homes based on OFGEM average usage rates.
The solar farm, strategically located to harness solar energy on a large scale, is designed to contribute to the UK’s renewable energy goals by producing sustainable electricity for thousands of homes and businesses.
The project will play a critical role in reducing carbon emissions, meeting the rising demand for renewable energy, and demonstrating Mead Realisations’ commitment to responsible environmental stewardship.
Alistair Mead, managing director of Mead Realisations Ltd., said: “This project represents a significant milestone for Mead Realisations, and we are proud to contribute to the growing renewable energy sector.
“Working alongside SSW Developments Ltd and Hive Ethical Project Developments Limited has been a fantastic experience, and together we’ve navigated the challenges to bring this vision to reality.
“This 75-acre solar farm will be instrumental in reducing carbon emissions and supporting the UK’s green energy future.
“We also extend our gratitude to the North Somerset Planning team for their invaluable support throughout the process.”
The partnership with SSW Developments and Hive Ethical Project Developments—a joint venture between Ethical Power Limited and Hive Energy Limited—has been instrumental in the project’s success.
Their expertise in planning, design, and installation ensures that the solar farm will not only deliver environmental benefits but also create long-term value for the local community.
Jonathan Bensted, Director of SSW Developments, added, “We are thrilled to be part of this project, which reflects our commitment to delivering clean energy solutions that benefit both local communities and the wider environment.
“The development of this 75-acre solar farm demonstrates how businesses and local authorities can collaborate to support a sustainable future.
“We look forward to the positive impact this project will bring to the region.”
This solar farm project is part of a series of investments by Mead Realisations in promoting sustainable energy practices and reducing the carbon footprint of the local area, marking a significant step toward a more sustainable and resilient energy infrastructure for North Somerset.
