A HOUSEBUILDER has announced its sponsorship of Weston Carnival 2024.

Backhouse said it will “proudly sponsor” the event taking place this Friday (November 8).

The carnival, a highlight of the local events calendar, brings together the community and visitors alike for a spectacular evening of festive floats, live music and celebration, and raises money for local charitable causes.

As part of its commitment to the community wherever it builds new developments, Backhouse has made a generous donation toward the vital medical facilities needed on the night, helping to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all carnival-goers.

Backhouse’s involvement this year further strengthens the company’s dedication to Weston-super-Mare, where it is currently developing a new residential community.

This sponsorship builds on the company’s ongoing support for local initiatives, including its current sponsorship of Weston FC this season.

Neil O’Donoghue, spokesperson for the carnival, said: “We are delighted to have Backhouse as a key sponsor this year.

“Their contribution toward our medical facilities will be invaluable in helping us ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

“This support demonstrates a true commitment to the community and adds tremendous value to our event.”

Backhouse CEO, Ian Jones, added: “We are thrilled to sponsor the Weston Carnival and play a part in supporting this cherished community tradition.

“Being able to contribute to essential medical resources for the night is incredibly important to us.

“Weston-super-Mare is not just a location for our newest development; it’s a vibrant community we are proud to support in meaningful ways, from carnival night to the local football field with Weston Football Club.”

Backhouse’s new development at Meads Fields will deliver homes to the area, designed with both community needs and local character in mind.

Backhouse is currently constructing over 300 homes across five developments in Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, and Somerset.
