WESTON-super-Mare Carnival will take place this Friday (November 8) and here are all the information and details about the event.

This year’s event has a total of 96 entries and a series of activities is also scheduled for the day.

The procession will start at 7pm going from Locking Road car park.

It will head down Alfred Street, turns left on to the Boulevard, run through Waterloo Street and South Parade before turning left at the Cabot on to the seafront (Royal Parade).

The procession will end at Bistrot Pierre. See the route at https://orlo.uk/Tjqxl It’ll finish by about 9.30pm.

A spokesperson for the carnival said: “For The Carnival Village this year on the Italian Gardens we have free children's entertainment with Action Pussycat from 5pm - 7pm prior to the carnival procession.

“There is a full stocked bar for the grown ups and food outlets for those that are hungry.

“Unfortunately, we do not have any children's rides this year but we will have a visit from Princess Belle and Chase from Paw Patrol.

“The Rock Choir will also be joining us for a performance.

“We have the team from Devon Truck Show on the Boulevard from 5.30pm selling programmes with one of the most popular working and display trucks in the country, Ryan Gorretts T164 V8 bright yellow T-Cab, perfect for a selfie or two.

“We have the Mayor leading out the procession this year followed by 14 different classes and over 90 entries in the parade.

“The parade starts at 1900 hours from Locking Road Carpark and heads off past Tesco, down Alfred Street onto the Boulevard, along Waterloo Street passed the Grandstands and Italian Gardens and around passed the college.

“The rest area is back this year at the request of the clubs, so there will be no action in this small area from the carts.

“All systems go as the carts turn onto the seafront passed the winter Gardens and on to the finish by the Pirate Golf.

“Our biggest cart entries are 100ft long with up to 40 people performing on them, just as important to the parade are our single walking entries and everyone else in between.

“For people who can't make it in person, we have a live stream video production sponsored by Swiis Foster Care.

“There will be three cameras operating on the night and we will have expert commentary.

“The proceeds from the livestream go back into carnival to help fund this year and hopefully generate income towards next year’s event.
