RECYCLING crews in North Somerset found a “sharp knife” in a box twice in two days last week.
It happened last weekend, as the council explained through its Recycling and Waste Facebook account.
Both North Somerset Council and Avon and Somerset Police shared information on how to safely dispose of a knife or bladed weapon.
A North Somerset Council spokesperson said: “Recycling crews found this knife in a box this week.
“This is the second sharp knife that was found in recycling boxes over the last two days.
“Sharp objects like these are hazard to the crew:
• Broken glass
• Sharp knives
• Syringes / needles
“Please be careful what you are putting in your boxes.
“If you see something in your box that shouldn’t be there, please remove it taking care not to harm yourself.”
A police spokesperson said: “Over the weekend North Somerset Recycling and Waste found this knife in a recycling box.
