A WESTON fundraiser who has been supporting several good causes for 30 years had the honour to deliver the match ball for a Bristol Bears Rugby Club in recognition of his milestone.

Paul Hobbs recently marked the anniversary by raising funds for Cancer Research UK by walking 30 miles around the Grand Pier in Weston.

The challenge took place on August 15 when Paul raised funds in memory of his “devoted wife” Maureen.

After the important milestone, the Bristol Bears recently welcomed Paul to celebrate his efforts in the last 30 years.

“I was given the honour of delivering the match ball for the men's premiership top of the table clash. I did an interview in The Bears Den at half-time “I was made extremely welcome in the Bristol Bears Boardroom there was a collection on the day by a team and took our total over £10,000 target total.

“It was a fantastic experience coming out in front of nearly 20,000 people and very proud and privileged to be given the honour of doing it.

“On the day a further £300 was collected for the event in aid of Cancer research UK.”
