A WORLE barber said he is willing to go to pensioners’ homes to offer free hair cut after hearing the news regarding the Winter Fuel Allowance reduction.
Pasquale Dimaggio, who worked in barber shops since he was 12, said he is planning to offer free hair cuts to “put something back in the community”.
He also said he is also currently cutting hair free of charge at Tollington Lodge Care Home in Weston.
After hearing the news regarding cuts to the Winter Fuel Allowance for pensioners, he decided to step in, and he is also opening a small barber shack in the next few weeks.
He said: “With pensioners losing money I am willing to cut their hair in their homes for free.
“We are not going to save them millions, but it would still help.
“I did barbering when I left school and worked in barber shops since I was 12.
“When I was a child, the dream was to have a barber shop. I have started up again in July and I’m going to have a shop soon.
“I work in a care home once a month and I thought helping pensioners and put something back in the community saving them pennies when the cost of living is going up it was a good idea to be fair.
“I have built a shed and converted it into a one-man salon. I am fully insured, and once I get my regulars I will open a shop.”
