A VENUE planning to offer free spaces to all those who want to be creative has recently opened its doors in Weston-super-Mare.
Stacks, a creative venue based in the Sovereign Shopping Centre, opened at the end of last month.
Owner Laura Pivoriunaite, who is a graphic designer and musician, said she thought about setting up a creative hub while she was a university student in Cornwall, where these venues are more popular.
Now she runs the venue with her partner Peter Smith.
She said she wants Stacks - which also has a café - to be a place that encourage designers, musicians, and creativity in general.
Laura said: “I am a graphic designer and musician. I just didn’t want to work for anyone else.
“Having a place like this in Weston is very important. There are a lot of craft places for the community, but there wasn’t a design space.
“We also want this to be a space for music and bring the independent coffee culture to Weston.
“The plan is to have a design hub in the future with a design laboratory that people can use for free - a space for people to work and be creative.”
Stacks is open seven days a week and will also host live music events.
