A GROUP of friends took up a challenge to raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
Chris Bradley, along with four friends, was looking to raise £1,500 by running, cycling, and swimming “as much as possible” on the 'Pier to Pier' route (Weston to Clevedon), Ashton Court in Bristol, and in Brean Down.
Chris tackled the challenge with Darran Griffiths, Stu Short, Sam Johnson, Tim Marshall, and Dan Whitford, and together they raised £1,614.
He said: “Our team target was 770 miles and we managed 945 miles.
“Sam did 67.5 miles basically spinning on his static bike (tough that), over hit his target.
“Stu did a massive 300 miles on his bike and hit his target.
“Tim who was injured at the start did 53.54 miles on his bike and over hit his target.
“Darran did a huge 261.7 miles on his bike and running and smashed his original target of 180 miles.
“And finally, myself - I also went over my target of 180 miles by completing 261 miles, running, cycling and swimming during the month.
“We all found the challenge hard because a lot of us were doing an activity we hadn't done for a very long time.
“We had some friends join us on a few rides also which was great fun.
“We got together as much as we could riding the 'Pier to Pier' route (Weston to Clevedon), Ashton court in Bristol and to Brean down.
“We had great support from family, friends and some customers throughout the month which kept our morale high.
“The best experience was raising money for a great charity and doing it with my good mates.
“To date, including gift aid, we have raised £1,614 and we plan on doing another charity fundraising challenge next year.”
