A SUPPORTER of a defibrillator charity who runs a 3D printing company has been awarded an Arts & Culture Category Award.

Josh from JD3DP who has recently also received a special thanks from the Donate for Defib WsM Project after winning the Arts & Culture through Reset WSM.

The award consisted of a trophy presentation of which many companies in Weston supported the event including another proud supporter of Donate For Defib WsM Project, being Weathered Oak - Photography and Videography.

Josh’s mum, Sonia, said: “Josh has Autism, ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder and Tourette’s Syndrome. “Last year he asked for a 3D printer, so I bought him one that he chose with all the filaments and just gave it to him.

“He has basically, self-taught himself all that he knows, he not only downloads paid for files and uses apps like blender to model and then he is able to transfer to his printers, but he also has been designing items from scratch using blender like the DFD items, and many custom orders as well.

“He has also taught himself how to not only maintain his printers but to also repair them and change parts as needed.”

Josh, project lead for Donate For Defib WsM Project said: "We are so grateful for all of the support that Josh gives us and his talents have supported the project to excel within the local community.

“He now has seven printers that he uses and creates items of maya and keyrings, magnets and more.

“We as a team from Donate For Defib WsM Project would like to say a huge well done to Josh his talents make him a very highly commendable individual, and we look forward to working with Josh more in the coming weeks and months enable Weston to become a more Defib Friendly town".
