OVER 60 stalls will offer a diverse selection of vegan foods, beauty products, candles, jewellery, crafts and more in Weston-super-Mare next week, George Gilliam reports.

The Somerset Vegan Festival 2024 (Friday, July 20) will celebrate an ethical, animal-friendly, eco lifestyle at Hutton Moor Leisure Centre.

It will inspire vegans, vegetarians, flexitarians as well as those who are thinking about vegan or want to include more vegan products in their diet – it is inclusive and open to all.

There are 60 vegan stalls, world food caters, vegan products exclusive in terms of not being found in the supermarket, recipes, nutritional advice, budget cooking ideas, free samples, talks and cookery demonstrations. They offer almost anything you could think of.

Vegan Events UK is running the event, founded in 2017 to promote veganism.

They and the events that they put on provide customers with a one-stop shopping experience where all of your vegan products and services can be found in the same place.

Small and family-run businesses have the opportunity to be promoted, sell and show off their products and services.

The aim is to educate people about what veganism is and to show people how easy, affordable, healthy and varied a vegan lifestyle is.

Featured stalls at the festival include Miracle’s Mission. Miracle’s Mission helps animals worldwide, starting with its rescue, neuter and education programme in Borneo and Malaysia, providing stray animals with safety, comfort & health.

Miracle’s Mission is a non-profit organisation that works with sick, injured and difficult animals.

The help they put in worldwide to animals is only possible with the support of the public, and every donation makes a difference to the animals rescued, rehabilitated & re-homed, through vaccinations or providing food, shelter or vet treatment.

No matter how big or small, they count, and you can visit https://www.miraclesmission.org/donate/ to contribute.

Caterers include There’s No Catch, offering amongst other favourites, their deliciously authentic headline dish vegan fish with top-quality batter, chips and mushy peas.

There will also be a stall selling Bo’s Books, a new cook-book that features simple, easy-to-follow recipes together with beautiful illustrations of dogs from animal welfare charity Miracle’s Mission. All profits go to help needy dogs at Miracle’s Mission.

Somerset Vegan Festival takes place on Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 10:30am to 4:30pm at Hutton Moor Leisure Centre, Hutton Moor Road, Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset, BS22 8LY.
