A PERSON has died in an incident on the train tracks near Highbridge.

The incident took place on Tuesday, July 2, with emergency services called to reports of a casualty on the tracks at 6.09pm.

Paramedics attended the incident and the person was pronounced dead at the scene.

British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to the line near Highbridge at around 6.09pm last night (2 July) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

"Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
