LOVE was in the air on a Jet2.com flight from Bristol Airport to Menorca as George West, an electrician from Bristol, proposed to his girlfriend of 10 years, Stephanie Perrett, who was working as senior cabin crew member on the flight.

What started as an ordinary working day for Stephanie last Tuesday (June 11) quickly turned extraordinary.

George, with the help of the airline's team, had booked himself onto the flight, ensuring he was seated at the back of the aircraft, away from where Stephanie was attending to passengers.

Shortly after take-off, the flight deck colleagues, who were in on the surprise, requested Stephanie’s presence at the flight deck.

This strategic move allowed George to make his way to the front of the aircraft undetected.

As Stephanie re-entered the cabin, she was met with the sight of George down on one knee, ready to pop the question.

Amid cheers and applause from delighted holidaymakers, Stephanie joyfully accepted George's proposal.

The romantic moment was followed by an embrace as passengers shared in their happiness. The airline had arranged for Stephanie to have the remainder of the flight off, allowing the newly engaged couple to savour the moment together.

"This is certainly a flight I will never forget," said Stephanie.

"When I saw George, I had to do a double-take and thought, what on earth is he doing on my flight when he’s supposed to be at work? When he knelt down, I couldn’t believe it. I’m really looking forward to getting married.”

George said: "I know how much Stephanie loves flying, so I thought this would be the perfect surprise for her.

"I cannot tell you how great the Jet2.com team have been in helping me make it happen. We’ll definitely be looking at a Jet2holiday for our honeymoon!”

The couple enjoyed the remainder of their journey to Menorca and returned on the same aircraft back to Bristol, where the adventure began.
