THERE'S a lot going on in and around Weston this Bank Holiday weekend.

A Visit Weston-super-Mare spokesperson has outlined some of the main events: "Hands up who is ready for an extra-long Bank Holiday weekend?

"We reckon you might just need the full three-day weekender to fit in all our suggestions of things you can do in and around Weston-super-Mare and still give yourself time to breathe!

"We're really looking forward to seeing all the cars and vehicles on display at the two-day Pageant of Transport on the Beach Lawns on Saturday and Sunday.

"It is also the final weekend to see Knife Angel North Somerset in the Italian Gardens before it is transported to its next port of call in Sunderland on Friday, May 31.

"Throughout the weekend, there's a live music bonanza.

"Oasis tribute band @noasis_oasistributeband are at the Tropicana Weston tonight, Friday May 24 at 7pm and there's a three-night festival of pop tribute acts at the Riverside Holiday Village in Bleadon - and the good news is that you don't have to be a resident to get in.

"On Friday May 24, it's Karl Lewis as Olly Murs, then on Saturday it's Jo McNabb as Amy Winehouse before on Sunday it's Little ReMix - all starting at 9pm.

"There's a double dose of outdoor festival-style live music at Mendip Activity Centre with Silverline kicking off the new season of Live at The Lodge Sessions on Saturday before Sam Evans the following evening. Both sessions are free and start at 7pm.

"There's music of a different variety at The Blakehay Theatre with Vivaldi's Four Seasons by Candlelight classical concert at 7.30pm on Saturday evening.

"Local favourites The Lipinski Brothers will be playing the The Royal Hotel Weston-super-Mare on Sunday afternoon at 2pm.

"And for those wanting some thrills, spills and car carnage there's a double helping of banger racing action at the Mendips Raceway on Sunday and Monday, starting at 1pm."
