ONE person was rescued from an "accidental" flat fire in Weston last week (Friday, May 17).
Fire crews were called at around 1.55pm to tackle a blaze in a residential flat on Shrubbery Road.
On arrival, firefighters discovered a fire in a ground floor flat, which they extinguished using hose reels and jets.
A spokesperson from the Avon Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called at 1:55pm on Friday, May 17 to reports of a fire in a residential flat on Shrubbery Road, Weston-super-Mare.
"On arrival, firefighters found a fire in a ground floor flat. One person was rescued prior to our arrival.
"Firefighters used hose reels and jets to extinguish the fire.
"The cause of the fire is thought to be accidental."
