OVER £3,500 was raised at the All 60s/70s Night in Weston earlier this month.

An impressive £3,525 was raised at the event, which was held on Friday, May 10 in the town's football club.

The proceeds have been donated to Weston Hospicecare. Over 170 people attended.

Tribute Band Locarno Beat headlined the event. Female vocalist Chrystal Bliss, who lives in Worle, also performed.

The lighting was supplied by Scotts Services and the 60s/70s footage by Philip Cocks.

Volunteers from the hospice sold over £500 worth of raffle prizes, which were donated by both local and national companies and totalled over £1,000.

A range of local companies sponsored the event, including:

  • Mendip Conservatories;
  • Brooking Ruse Accountants;
  • Davan Caravans and Motorhomes;
  • Rachel J Homes Estate Agents;
  • A special mention for C and D  Associates.

 

David Kingsbury, organiser, said: "This is the best ever amount raised at this event and this is the eighth time I have organised the evening and takes the money I have raised over the years to £1,9275."
