A PERSON has sadly died on the train tracks near Weston this morning (Friday, May 17).
At around 10.52am, officers from the British Transport Police and paramedics were called to the scene following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
The person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident is currently not being treated as suspicious.
A file is set to be prepared for the coroner.
A spokesperson from the British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to the line near Weston-super-Mare at around 10.52am today (May 17) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
