Nigel Scott will represent Axbridge and join hundreds of town criers in the UK to proclaim the first anniversary of the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
He will stand on the steps of St John the Baptist Church at 12 noon on Monday, May 6.
Duties include reading out a royal proclamation which is specially written for the occasion and approved by Buckingham Palace.
A consultant engineer and resident of Axbridge, Mr Scott said he was "delighted and honoured to be representing Axbridge to make this historic proclamation."
He is part of the age-old profession of town crying, traditionally responsible for communicating royal news, local bylaws, market days, and important information to townsfolk.
Bruno Peek CVO OBE OPR, Pageantmaster of The Royal Proclamation, expressed gratitude towards Jane Smith, the principal town crier, and all participating criers representing the United Kingdom, Channel Islands, and the Isle of Man.
He said: "We feel it is so important to celebrate this first anniversary of the Coronation of His Majesty The King, and Her Majesty The Queen Camilla, as it is such a glorious occasion for the whole country".
