FIREFIGHTERS rushed to the scene of an open ground blaze over the weekend in Weston.
Crews were called to Rectors Way at around 11.07am on Sunday, April 28. On arrival, they found a fire on open ground. The open ground included wood and vegetation, so it was crucial that crews worked quickly.
Using water and buckets, crew members managed to extinguish the flames.
According to the service, the cause of the fire is believed to have been accidental.
A spokesperson from the Avon Fire & Rescue service said: "We were called at 11:07am on April 28 to reports of a fire on Rectors Way, Weston-super-Mare.
"Firefighters found a fire on open ground involving wood and vegetation. Crews extinguished the blaze using water and buckets.
"The cause of the fire is thought to be accidental."
