NORTH Somerset's RSPCA branch is hoping to find the perfect forever home for a dog who came into its care following welfare concerns.
Teddy, who is described as a "happy boy", had large areas of sore and broken skin on his neck and other areas of his body. He also had a "very nasty" injury to his right hind leg.
Teddy, who is Ataxic, moves with a very "odd" gait, which the care team say makes him "even more special."
The RSPCA centre, based in Brent Knoll, is on the lookout for Teddy's ideal home. He is yet to have any applications or interest expressed.
Teddy enjoys cuddles and fuss. He loves his toys, especially his tennis balls, and he really enjoys going on walks.
He loves his food and has already made progress in his training.
The RSPCA works day in, day out to rescue and care for animals in need.
A RSPCA North Somerset branch spokesperson said: "Teddy came into our care via RSPCA Inspectorate staff following concerns for his welfare.
"His neck had large areas of sore and broken skin, there were a few around his body also. He also had a very nasty injury to his right hind leg.
"Teddy is Ataxic meaning he moves with a very odd gait, described as clumsy, staggering movements with a wide-based gait. Making Teddy even more special!
"Verity, our animal care supervisor, has this to say about Teddy: 'I try not to have favourites, but Teddy really does put a smile on my face.
"He is such a happy boy which rubs off on me. He loves to lean right into me for a big cuddle and fuss. We have lots of fun together, he loves his toys, especially tennis balls, he also enjoys going for walks, we take in the scenic views together.
"He loves his food and focuses very well when we do a spot of training / management together which he really enjoys. I will truly miss him when he gets adopted, but even sadder, he is yet to have any interest / applications I hope it's time Teddy's luck to turn around.'"
