A North Somerset hotel is encouraging people who work from home to consider a change of scene every now and then to improve productivity and motivation.
The majority of people and businesses transitioned to home-based work during the Covid-19 pandemic.
This resulted in workers staying constantly in the same place.
The management of Cadbury House, a four-star venue, believes this isn't necessarily good for mind or body.
General manager Gareth Ireland said: "The pandemic certainly altered the way we looked at how we work and interact.
"Many people have continued to work from home, enjoying the work and life balance it brings.
"However, having a change of scene is, I believe, really important especially from a creative point of view as well as boosting mood and motivation."
Mr Ireland often challenges colleagues and friends about the last time they left their home office, with most admitting they never do.
Although he has an office, he consciously opts to work throughout the building, finding it stimulating and useful in managing his workload.
His views align with expert opinion, which outlines the brain's need for stimulation to function at full capacity.
A change of environment can inspire creativity and eliminate unhealthy or distracting habits.
A different setting, unlike the home, can help avoid distractions like domestic chores.
Gareth Ireland added: "We have lots of amazing spaces here at Cadbury House, whether it’s The Living Room or outside in the grounds; all are conducive to a productive working day and anyone can use the space.
"We like to think that we’re leading the way in the local hospitality and lifestyle scene.
"The mixture of space is perfect for those looking for somewhere different to work and is the perfect solution for those whose jobs mean they can work remotely."
