A TOUR which highlights the "historic treasures" of Somerset has been named as one of the top eight in the country by Travel Weekly.

The Splendour of Stunning Somerset & Best of the West Country tour by Just Go Holidays showcases stunning scenery and the South West's rich heritage.

Places of note include Bishop’s Palace, Longleat House and Cheddar Gorge, where visitors can enjoy delicious local cheese.

Travel Weekly hopes that, by publishing the list, people from across the country will be able to enjoy Britain's "undeniable appeal" and enchanting locations.

The publication's website reads: "For history-loving clients, this new addition to Just Go Holidays’ Historic Houses range ticks all the boxes.
