THE leader of North Somerset Council, Cllr Mike Bell, has confirmed that the council is working to secure a new pharmacy to take over Bournville's Boots store.
The Boots pharmacy on St. Andrews Parade is due to close on Saturday, February 24, 2024.
The council is hoping that an interested party will come forward to take over the premises and continue to provide essential service to the area's residents.
It is expected that this could take several months.
Cllr Bell said: "The Boots pharmacy on St. Andrews Parade, Weston-super-Mare, will cease trading at close of business on Saturday, February 24, 2024.
"We are in close contact with the NHS about securing a new pharmacy to take over the location and ensure continued services for local residents.
"However, it could take several months for the process of recruitment to take place, assuming an interested party comes forward with an ability to step in."
