A CONGRESBURY restaurant has launched a dedicated vegan menu to give its customers more choice.
The new menu at Marco Pierre White’s Steakhouse Bar & Grill, located at Cadbury House, sits alongside its regular à la carte and seasonal set menus.
Whilst the restaurant has increased the number of vegan and vegetarian dishes served over the last few years, the move to have a dedicated vegan menu will meet a demand as more people try out the diet.
The new menu is available throughout the whole year, not just for Veganuary.
Marco Pierre White himself went vegan once.
He said: “There is a place for all types of menus and the addition of the new vegan menu reflects what more and more customers now want.
"We’re not compromising on our other menus and there are some delicious classics for all to enjoy – we’re just providing a wider choice with regard to the vegan options.
“The world needs to eat less meat, but the reality is that until now plant-based meat products have fallen way short in terms of the quality and versatility required for our menus.
“I went on a vegan diet once and although I’m back on what I’d call a more balanced diet, I certainly lost a lot of weight.”
The menu includes four starters, four mains and four desserts.
Starters include Beetroot & Walnut Salad, Bruschetta, Roasted Tomato Soup and Zucchini Fritti.
The mains include Roast Root Vegetable & Bean Cassoulet, Chimichurri Glazed Baked Cauliflower, Chickpea & Spinach Curry and Gnocchi Arrabbiata.
Desserts feature Granola Topped Apple Crumble, Poached Seasonal Fruits, Almond Rice Pudding and a selection of ice creams and sorbets.
The restaurant's website reads: "The Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill Bristol is all about the experience: the buzz, the atmosphere and enjoying the company of friends in gorgeous, comfortable surrounds.
"The dining room, which is part of Doubletree by Hilton at Cadbury House, is the perfect setting for any occasion from an intimate dinner for two to a family celebration.
"The menus offer the very best in fresh, seasonal produce provided by suppliers residing here in the South West. We also offer a large and varied wine, champagne and cocktail list, not forgetting a delectable range of local ales and guest ciders."
