BERROW Beach has been ranked the best in a list of Great Britain's 100 best outdoor destinations.
A map has been designed by the Ordinance Survey for car manufacturer, Jeep, to celebrate Great Britain’s beautiful and unique islands, by compiling results from a survey of 2,000 people.
The company hope the map will encourage people to get outdoors and 'off the beaten track' by visiting one of the nation's 100 best outdoor locations.
The interactive map describes Berrow Beach as: "A huge six-mile stretch of sand, ideal for long water-side walks throughout the year.
"Cars can even be parked on the sand year-round."
Wimbleball Lake Activity Centre in Dulverton was the only other site in Somerset to make the list.
Also making it into the top ten, the site is described as a: "beautiful lake in Somerset which makes a great family day out. Try your hands at one of the many water sports."
The top ten 'off the beaten track' locations in England, Scotland, and Wales are as follows:
- Berrow Beach, Somerset.
- Talybont Reservoir, Brecon, Wales.
- The Holy Island of Lindisfarne, Northumberland.
- Roche Rock, Cornwall.
